It was a cloudy, yet warm day. It was the middle of August, the beginning of School at Canyon Keep High School. I was walking against the dull wall of bricks, worn out from students throwing balls at them and graffiti. (get some more options on this part.) Dylan Brown and Conner Beck, a couple of students from the school were walking past me talking about guns. I was those kind of girls were I was a tomboy. You know, most friends are guys, not girls. I walked up to them eavesdropping, yet right by their sides. "Yeah I love those (a type of gun we need to discuss)! They are so freaking fun to shoot. Hey remember when you hit that pheasant with the (gun we need to discuss)? I still can`t believe you. I want to see the pheasant myself!" Dylan said.(maybe a synonym for that?) Conner laughed a guilty laugh. I knew that smile anywhere from him. That meant he had actually lied. Haha, once Dylan found out he lied, He was going to poke him on his pressure point in his neck. Dylan was tall and muscular, a blondish brown, with glasses and blue (not sure if the real Dylan is blue or brown.) eyes. He was a joker in class and almost always annoyed someone. You usually had to say something insulting to him to shut up and get to his seat and start working. Conner was normal height for a sophomore and had blonde hair with blue eyes and annoying just as Dylan. "Sorry, I uhh... ate it!" Conner said with a scent of making that fake sentence. I rolled my eyes, laughed a silent laughed, then walked somewhere else. I saw Dimitri House. He has had a big crush on me ever since Kindergarten. He was really tall, probably the tallest in the school, blue eyes and blonde hair. He saw me and of course, came casually walking over with his best friend, Troy, and of course he was going to try flirting with me. "Hey Sonic, how are you?" He causally pronounced. I thought this was way too corny. No, I never really did like him, but he was handsome in his own way once in every blue moon. "FIne, Fine. And you?" I had a friend one year older than me. He was a senior and a good friend. Once when I sat by Dimitri in lunch, one of my friends came over and remarked to Dimitri that Jesse liked me and that I liked Jesse. No way it was true, but when I faced my head down, I looked at Dimitri`s hand, and his hand looked like his knuckles were about to explode with pressure. They were as white as pure snow. I finally nudged her off and she left. Ever since then, he would always leave or back off if I mentioned Jesse. "Hey, by the way have you seen Jesse?" I asked. The flirtatious smile off of Dimitri`s face had vanished and he jerked this thumb over his back and said grimly, "He`s over playing football" I never really meant to not did I ever go to see Jesse. He was just a good escape plan and he was a good friend too. I walked out to the fields on a high hill and looked for Desiree and Amanda. I wanted to tell them about the good news about me getting a job for vet assistant. That is my dream job. Not being a vet assistant but actually being a vet. I had worked hard to show the vet that lived in town that I was to be a good helper, not queasy when the sight of blood and being able to stick a thermometer up their bum. I love animals and have grown up with 3 of them. All dogs and all rowdy and wild! That`s part of what makes me sort of like a tomboy. I finally caught sight of Desiree and sprinted as fast as I could toward her.
She was talking to Hilary about some special makeup. Hilary was Desiree’s best friend. She was short, with corkscrew blonde hair and very nice. “It made Cole look at me today, I`m telling you it works Hilary!” I poked Desiree until she finally turned around and saw just from the look of my face what had happened. We both screamed like fingernails on a chalkboard and jumped up and down with excitement. We were best friends, we couldn`t help it but supporting each other and loving each other for every choice we both made. “I can`t believe it! You actually did it! You got the old mean Mr. Wilcox to finally let you become his assistant!” She was doing the hokey pokey and bouncing all around me. I think she had a bowl of sugar for breakfast. We got into our first class of the day which was biology. I kept thinking Edward Cullen was going to pop out of nowhere and sit by me. I was that kind of girl where I love romantic stories. Nothing much happened in biology except that we learned about the insides of a frog. Boring! Don`t they realize I already know this stuff? I had worked long and hard to learn as much about the insides of a dog as possible for the vet assistant. When the bell rang and it was time to go to drama class, I was thrilled to enter the huge stage to see students buzzing about, teachers telling kids not to put the props there, but here, doors slamming open and shut with other students coming in. And that`s when I woke up from my dream. There were several kids behind me waiting for me to get moving and out of the Isle. I apologized and felt stupid for embarrassing myself on the first day of school. As I walked up to the huge stage that was hot because of the lights, It seemed as when I walked up on the stage, there was an ocean of chairs out before me, waiting to get entertained and thrilled. I smiled. I couldn`t wait until we did a play and I was the main character and the roar of a million people giving me standing ovations! Clap Clap! The Drama Teacher, Mr. Ward, ordered everyone to take a seat in the audience (what are they called? The audience space? You know, where all the chairs are?)seats. I jumped off the stage and hurried to a chair next to Dylan. Mr. Ward droned on about how we must practice hard and learn to ignore the audience, and say it freely with our minds and hearts wide open. I thought he was truly speaking like a regular Shakespeare. He finally let us on the stage and said that we should do a Disney film for the youngsters. I voted for Mulan. He made us do a couple scenes from Pocahontas. Were Pocahontas stands up from the rocks while John Smith has a gun. He let me play as Pocahontas. It was all really quite dramatic. Dylan played as John Smith and I played Pocahontas. “You and Dylan were a perfect play partner team,” Mr. Ward said, “You know each other`s vibes and how they work.” In next to no time everyone in the class had a partner and was ready to start “baby acting” as Mr. Ward described it. While we were all chattering away like a bunch of little birds on out acting skills, someone opened the door letting a good amount of pure light shining through it. The student was very handsome with dark black hair and bright green eyes, his muscles flexed while he carried his heavy backpack. I wanted to get to know him. He hurried up the alley and explained to Mr. Ward why he was late, Mr. Ward glanced around to see that everyone had a partner and he made him come in our group. After we practiced the mirror exercise, I was going to get to the know the boy who had joined us.
Thats all for today folks.
